10 DLG-GOLD awards in 2013


GERMAN NATIONAL HONORARY AWARD conferred for the fifth time in succession!
 For the past five years Maxlrain Castle Brewery has continued to qualify for Germany’s highest awards. In 2012 Maxlrain received the GOLDEN HONORARY AWARD with the official title: "Germany's brewery of the year 2012"

MAXLRAIN CASTLE BREWERY may look back to prosperous months:

In January 2013 the German Agricultural Society (DLG) bestowed a total of 10 gold medals on Maxlrain Castle Brewery for the excellence of its products. The number of prizes thus conferred is not only a token of distinction awarded to each individual product but also reflects the company’s policy of total commitment to quality applied to the entire assortment. Extending to a period of three months, the DLG audit is considered to be one of the world’s most stringent beer testing procedures.

We take special pride in announcing that all 10 beer categories submitted were awarded the DLG gold medal: our Export Pale Ale SCHLOSS GOLD [Castle Gold], our classical full-bodied pale variety MAXLRAINER HELLES, LEO WHEAT BEER allowed to ferment in its natural unfiltered state, AIBLING BLACK ALE, the natural bottom-fermented SCHLOSS TRUNK [Ye Olde Castle Brewe], the dark unfiltered SCHLOSS WEISSE [Castle Wheat Beer] in the distinctive swing-top closure bottle, ZWICKL MAX, Nature’s unfiltered beer delight and the MAXLRAINER PILS in addition to our March-brewed KIRTA Anniversary Beer and the JUBILATOR extra-strength stout.


In June 2012 the GERMAN NATIONAL HONORARY AWARD was bestowed upon the CASTLE BREWERY for the 5th time in a row. Conferred by the German Federal Ministry of Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, this is the ne-plus-ultra award for a German brewery. In fact only two breweries – including MAXLRAINER – have ever qualified for such eminent distinction for the fifth time running. As the only German brewery MAXLRAIN received the GOLDEN HONORARY AWARD with the official title: "Germany's brewery of the year 2012. The CASTLE BREWERY has thus continued to rank among the highest-rated German breweries for fife years in succession.
